Hi Dr. Carol,
The pup we are getting is from the litter we looked at this weekend – not the one 
with the fused toes. This gal is the lady we took Jules to when we bred her. She only has one female sheltie now that she breeds and this was her first litter in two years — so we were very fortunate!
I decided to go with her pup because I know her personally and because of course, her pup was healthy !! I did ask her about the "fused toed" pup – and although she has never had a litter that this happened to, she said the same thing you told me — that it would most likely get arthritis very early and possibly have other problems down the road.
he also gave me a break in the price of the pup after hearing that we just lost Jules !
